The NRL & SL need to agree that a players registration is valid in both competitions, so that players can't simply walk out of one contract and into another on the opposite side of the world with no penalty, compensation, explanation or hardship. At the moment, the players have all the cards and can play the clubs off each other and with a slew of unscrupulous agents on tap they are proving very adept at doing so.
I don't care if Sandow & Sayegero are homesick. You signed a contract and you should either honour it, or buy yourselves out of it. Forget the fact that this is professional sport, in any walk of life if you renege on a contract there are repercussions to you personally, and also to prospective employers if they induce you to break a contract or employ you whilst still under one. This should be no different.
The clubs need to unite on this one and slap players and agents down immediately,
