George King : Sun Oct 23, 2016 3:47 pm
Hill, Cooper, Sims, Crosby together with Westwood, Harrison (if he can get it back together), Savelio (if required) and Pat Moran sniffing around for a chance is going to make it very difficult for George King in 2017. I know props develop late, but either we have a catastrophic prop injury list or surely he is going to have to really kick on to get game time ???

Hill and Crosby are out and out props. The others can play back row as well if required so there will be competition across all the forwards except hooker of course. It also gives Tony Smith the opportunity to give Chris Hill shorter playing time. George King has done well for such a young prop, with promise, hopefully we can help him and the other young players to stay interested and develop.

It's good there will be competition for places in the pack the more the merrier with George King being one to push not for a starting spot but regularly in the 17/19, as said he's young also well thought of at the club Hill gave him plenty of praise earlier this year they must be pleased with his steady progress, as Winslade's puts it at this stage of his career he has to kick on probably having more minutes in him and pace than Westwood and Harrison two good players, I think king has it in him to hold a place in the squad.

I think George King is progressing nicely. The first 4 years after Mike Cooper made his debut I was his biggest critic. I just didn't think he had any wrestle in him and was content to just make the tackle. I think that is where G King is at. He has a decent number of games under his belt and some big games at that. I think he will do a good job for us for quite a number of years.
I suspect he may play more than people think next year. There will be enough bumps, bruises and suspensions to give him chance to continue his progression.

Agreed, not the finished article but he was much better towards the end of the season so he must have a decent attitude towards improving. I think he will be 5th choice but will get plenty of games.

He has good footwork I'd like him to bulk up a tad but not so much that his mobility is affected.

He will get time to play for sure he has the heart for s prop which can more than make up for lack in size!!
