Id be interested to know the average age of the posters on this board. Sundays might suit folk who are retired or no longer want to go out before and after for a few scoops but Friday nights and Saturdays are the way forward for getting people and new support through the turnstiles.
if you were thinking about going to a wire game and getting into the game what for the first time, would attract you the most?
A) A Friday night under floodlights. Good atmosphere, start of the weekend and a bit of a social with your mates on the ale before and after with no worries about work in the morning.
B) A Saturday afternoon/Evening. Get into town earlyish. enjoy a drink and some food, a good buzz around the pubs. oppositions fans get to the game earlier and do the same. Good craic to be had by all.
C) A Sunday afternoon with 0 atmosphere, low crowds because non season ticket holders cant be arsed spending 2 hours stood watching Huddersfield or wakey who brought their traveling support on a minibus. Oh and work in the morning.
Friday all day for me. I don't mind Saturday evening but Saturday afternoons are daft with open age amateur games kicking off at 2pm.
Which option can I take without having to rush around straight from work.
Which option can I take my kids too.
Which option can I enjoy some midday sun on my face.
Which option can I sit in a beer garden putting the Rugby league world or world in general to right. .... pre and post game. ...
But most importantly which game means I don't have to spend afternoon tea at the in laws. .....
Sunday. ......RIP sadly missed. .....
I was 12 when I first attended a wire game and was hooked since that day, quite how fitting it in with getting poop faced would make the game more appealing is totally alien to me........
