I can remember clapping when Eric Fraser scored a try at Wilderspool. It was bloody noisy though, and hurt my hands.

I think singing song and swearing is childish and un-necessary. Singing should be banned. A polite a applause and a cry of "Well done that man!" when a Try is scored is about as rowdy as it gets.

Apart of course front the cheeky little scamp stood on the soapbox at the front, who came with his grandfather and was treated with the giving of a Rosette and wooden rattle.

The best chant night has to be Wigan away under Cullen.
Barmy Army for 80 mins of the game and 15mins after. We wouldn't move. They tried drowning us out with music mic'd through the tannoy system. .... We just sang louder!
We got beat but it was a top night.

I remember a short lived chant....
Oh id rather eat a pastie than a pie...(she'll be coming round the mountain)

Repeated swearing/chanting are usually the signs of a lack of intelligence/vocabulary/conversational skills which sadly reflects on many sports fans.

I'm very educated, with a wide vocabulary and talk to clients of multi million pound projects on a daily basis. Yet I swear like a trooper. Why? Because I don't like Wigan and the pope doesn't know who they are. Does that make me a bad fan? No. I go to the game and enjoy myself however I see fit to do so. Flip the bird to the away fans and give the opposition wingers closest to me as much grief as I can.

On the other hand, some people like to sit down, read a program and clap politely. That's their choice, I'm not here to judge, I accept people like going to the match for different reasons. (except the gaggle of pre-teen girls at the back who do nothing but screech and look at their phone).

Exactly MO and as far as the Spanish thing goes I don't mind it and usually add the obligatory Whey Hey!!! Mind you I'm a relaxed Eric Morecambe look alike so the whey hey comes naturally perhaps a bit too much so for my neighbours on SW40

Let's hope we hear it plenty tonight as it should mean that we are walloping Saints
