We don't really know what he does or how he interacts.
We just see the end result of the efforts of the club staff on the pitch.
Because we didn't plan properly - or at least our plans weren't fulfilled - we ended up in a mess last year.
Ultimately the buck stops with TS.
If Agar has significantly contributed to the direction that's one thing, if he's carrying out TS's wishes but argued against the direction in private that's another.
If the results come TS will take the plaudits but should not take them too much to heart.
If the results don't come TS should not take the flak too much to heart if his vision is sound.
I agree with the first part of your post but sorry Fez I'm confused by the second bit and especially as far as Agar is concerned.
He was rightly or wrongly lambasted by many for the last couple of years, wrongly IMO as ultimately the buck stops with TS although I concede if a Head Coach has to go for poor performance the assistant may also get judged, he can't use Pontius Pilate hand wringing get out clause necessarily.
However, if we have a successful season, as a member of staff his effort and contribution should be recognised.
