Not sure Tom actually wanted to come to Wire, there were strong rumours when he left here that after the deal was struck he met with Pearson and Radford to have it reversed. Kind of the opposite situation to Gareth Carvell's situation before he left us for you, after he had signed a contract with us but asked it to be torn up so he could join you guys.
But in Toms case Pearson/Radford would not budge as we already had Mahe Fonua lined up.
I think the Hull fans loved Tom. Yes he had his deficiencies but Radders could have worked on those like he has with Mahe Fonua also.
The problem for Tom was attitude, he did not fit the new blueprint which Radders now demands.
....and he probably doesn't fit Tony Smiths blueprint either.
But the lad has undoubted talent, he just needs to commit himself to the game totally and to the team ethic. Once he goes back to school re. the defensive side of his game he'll come out the other side a good player for someone i'm sure.
He happy go lucky and likes to be having fun a bit too much. He should lose some of that and focus a bit more on what is expected of him as a professional..
But I like the kid and I'll always wish him well.
