Are any supporters of SL teams happy with the way their team is playing this season. A trawl of the boards would suggest not. Is this a sign that the salary cap is working and bringing teams closer together (even if it is closer through a drop in standards generally?)?

I don't think that is why the salary cap was brought in!?
The cap is in place to protect teams from themselves, not to even up the competition. That's is a by product of system.

Following sky initial outlay when they entered RL and subsequent renegotiation that had clubs receiving further outlays, clubs went about the business in cavalier style, spending in contracts up to and beyond what they received from sky and not what they could afford the seasons after from the gate and sponsors.

Every team was in debt. Warrington and Wigan were at eleventh hour. Tesco bailed us both out.
Wigan were worse than Warrington! They got Tesco to shell out the £10m or so in advance to bail them out.

That is what we have a salary cap for...and it still doesn't work as teams are still going bust.

What is the point!!?

Judging by some posts even if we win the lot it will just go down as we only won a trophy or trophies because the rest of the teams were poor blah, blah, blah

A few heads need a wobble and ask ourselves what we want

Will some fans ever be happy??

I think most of the posts are a realistic critique of where we are rather than moaning for moaning's sake as you seem to allude WO's in particular is spot on IMO as is Wires71. I'm not unhappy but waiting for us to hopefully up the ante now we are at the business end. We don't live in la la landI think its fair to give praise where it's due and to have a bit of criticism also when appropriate Mr Kipling's if springs to mind and his cakes aren't bad either

BTW if you don't mind me saying you're not exactly 'behind the door' yourself having a moan from time to time which is fair enough and I usually agree with your assessment I often wonder though how this goes down at home?

did he ever clarify that, i could've swore he went back on that a week or so later when someone else was joshing about it.

On a similar slant, around 2011, we had a mysterious poster come on here just before GOB made his debut in firsts, he was bigging him up something rotten at the time. Anyone care to guess the named used in their email address for signing up?

I've no idea re LJ and I'm happy to read his posts and kind of hope he is 'connected' on the other hand if you were a colleague of LJ's connection would you be happy about it or indeed if you were the connection would you be happy with well Russell is an athlete playing rugby type stuff? I agree with the sentiment but I'm not sure whether it's 'right'

Ah well they can all decide amongst themselves

 I can assure you I am just another fan who wants the best for the team, I am neither an expert or 'connected' (wish I was) in any way so don't be expecting any breaking news

I do have a moan and a groan but mostly keep perspective with a balanced view (I think)

I just find it frustrating when it's all doom and gloom with the position we are in at the minute

Ultimately the team and TS will be judged at the end of the season so let's just see what happens

So sorry to quash your conspiracy theory Unc or is it TS himself

No conspiracy theory LJ just a bit guarded as I thought I'd read that you were related to Jack Johnson or did I dream that or was it a really funny joke that you later denied and I missed it? I'm not trawling through posts if you're not you're not if you are then my point stands.

Other than that I agree clear as mud ha ha

I remember the post i think, i was talking about the nucleus of players coming through from the academy and in particular Jack Johnson and as i have learn't on here if you mention a player in more than a couple of posts you are a relative or his agent

I agreed sacarstically i was his Dad, so i think this is where it has come from,i am not his Dad,relative, friend or agent by the way ha ha just a fan like you which i think one thing we can agree on is that he could be the long term Fb

Not sure when he is back, i heard round 21 but not seen his name in the reserves or any updates

To clarify Matty Russell aswell, i like him as a player but just find him frustrating, what i was getting at was he isn't a natural Rugby Player but is a good athlete and what he does is very effective but his lack of confidence under the high ball and lack of variation holds him back from being more consistent and reaching the next level

Russell seems most effective to me scooting from dummy half ,but do we have the luxury of being able to play him anywhere else than wing or fullback ? He is rapidly becoming another utility player, but with limited options.

I was happy in 2011. Superb side and entertaining, I hardly missed a game. It is obvious to anyone that the game is getting predictable and dull, the standard for Warrington has definitely dropped lower than it was in 2011. That game against Hudds was low intensity and error strewn. The scoring was like basketball.

Back in 2011 i really enjoyed watching Warrington AND any RL game on sky... There were plenty of good games and sides about... I think this could be the first season when no one is really any good.

I really do feel that the product has gone downhill massively. Games are poor, skill levels and intensity is low. A few years ago if you would have seen the scoreline Warrington 34-30 Huddersfield, you would have thought that you had missed an absolute cracker of a game... Truth is though, it was abysmal.

For me, the removal of the shoulder charge was the one that made a large contribution to the decline.... I used to love a good shoulder charge.. even if a game was a bit one sided you could always keep interested waiting for a big booming hit.

I've tried so hard to watch rugby league games on sky this season, but ive turned off more than ive finished watching... and some of them warrington games.
