I'm trying not to get too carried away but it's at least a few years since I've felt so optimistic about the potential for this season. The attitude, balance of squad, quality of players, competition for places, our hb partnership and for me loads more to come with us retaining the ball better and 6 first teamers still recovering and the exciting potential we have with our young players and new recruits. I'm still buzzing from last night. Come on the Wire.

Without wishing to get completely carried away and name the first team squad, based on last year what about Philbin and Wilde in particular and would anyone be that disappointed to Johnson running out in the P&B?

The absolute opposite,i think given another year or so Johnson will be our fb fullstop and will for the next 10 years plus

I know TS thinks very highly of him,i just hope we can keep hold of the lad

I don't think it's in doubt,whatever "it" is he has got "it"!! Really classy player

I hope Toby King can get over his injuries as well,feel sorry for this lad but I'm sure he has a big future with us also

Dodds is the only one of those players who would get in my strongest team. The rest are just squad players now.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, Gentlemen. Let us not get too tumescent.

I'm immediately drawn to the hysteria of the 2007 start.
We went away, and beat a poor Wigan (they should've been relegated the previous season, for BLATANT CHEATING) in the snow. You know the game, Morley's debut that didn't last long. The lovefest on here was a touch overthetop.

Fast forward a week, and a Bradford side came to the HJ, and sh1th0use Harris played us like a fiddle, and we went home with our tails between our legs. You know the game, Grose had a try opportunity, which he failed to take, only for the morons in the old Pondlife Corner to start showering beer over that linesman who looks like a Chuckle brother.

The rest of the season showed us at our inconsistent best.

Last night was great. Let's just use the old cliché of "taking one game at a time", and see where we are at Manchester Magic. If we're near the top, great.
