It was about £10 in the West Stand I think. Maybe more, I can't remember for certain, but I do remember going in there rather than the South because it was cheaper. Maybe the West was "normal" price and the South went up though.
I can see the business sense of being in it, and I probably will go again if we are, but I'd rather not be. Our number one focus at the beginning of every single season should be qualifying for the real World Club Challenge, which is something we have never ever done. Anything else (other than the Challenge Cup) is just an unnecessary distraction.
The problem though is that there is no 'real WCC'. Aussie clubs come over here still in pre-season mode, trying to ensure they don't pick up injuries, and doing their bit for world RL. If they treated it as seriously as their own GF then you would never see an English winner and the scores would be in the region of 60-0. If you wan't a cup then the RFL could easily whip one up for the other two matches I am sure, and it would mean as much as the WCC trophy itself. The appetite for these matches is to see some quality (Oz) players, how to approach the game in a more professional manner, and how we measure up against the best. The HJ crowd seemed to enjoy what was on offer last year and I suspect we would get a good turnout again if we are in it this year. The Aussies are however sceptical, but if the games are well attended then they may start to take it all a bit more seriously, particularly if the TV rights can be sold. For me we are in the process of trying to establish the WCS and generate more interest - hopefully in a few more years we may see some matches where the outcome is important for both teams and the trophy a genuine target for both sides.
