Because Silverwood is one of the best refs, and didn't over-react and spoil the game for the fans by sending him off, when it was in a category that it could reasonably be dealt with afterwards, as it was. Admirable work ref.

I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall when Currie was being bollocked by the powers-that-be at Wire, prior to taking his EGP. What a prat. I hope they've fined him a few weeks wages too on the q.t.

so currie gets 3 matches (2 with his egp)thats the same punishment as someone from leeds for head butting.i know which one should be punished more...another joke from those bafoons at the rfl

He's pushed a ref, TWICE, in the space of a few seconds.

Do we want our game descending to football's level, where you've got that fat Scouse widge, Rooney, calling every ref under the sun a f##### c### every time the ref gives a free kick against him.

The ref should be spoken to respectfully (even IF he is a f###### c###) and should NEVER be shoved.


If this happened outside a Wire jersey, the same people whinging about other incidents, would be baying for blood.

Carry on like this, and we're going down a slippery slope (as a sport).

Currie's been banned. He's deserved it. Let's not try and find excuses, or crap comparisons.

I am a big fan of Ben Currie & I think he will go on to become a great player.
However under no circumstances should a player touch the Ref.

Ben will learn from this and in 2 games it will be all forgotten.

Don't be daft trying to make out as if they're the same. Currie has a little petulant nudge on the ref because of the decision against him. The Leigh player merely places a hand and his back and says "he pushed you".

So is shaking his hand after the final whistle. Anybody trying to suggest both 'contacts' are the same shouldn't be allowed near a RL game or any TV that's showing it.
