Pre-match idiots : Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:20 am  

I don't normally post too much on here, but thought this was worth a mention. During my pre-match pint at the Rodney on Saturday I was having a good chat with a few of the Leigh fans, lots of banter was flying about, was all in good spirit.

Next thing I see two vile creatures standing in the middle of the road between the Rodney and the stadium, both in Wire home shirts, giving it the cut throat gestures to the Leigh fans, acting Jonny Concrete, trying to start a fight. Luckily the Leigh fans just laughed in their faces, even the Wire fans were laughing at them.

Later in the ground, these two 'fans' were stood around the big drum South west end, and seemed to be the main leaders of the so called 'barmy army'. One short with blond hair. Id just like to point out that these 'fans' are an embarrassment to this club, and indeed to themselves. GROW UP!!

Id like to think the decent fans within that group may read this and tell the culprits to go and give there heads a wobble, as my 7 year old son was with me and that is certainly not the behaviour I wish to see from any fans, let alone Warrington species.

Great craic all over Warrington on Saturday day and evening pal, boozers took a few bob and I didnt see any trouble at all. What RL is all about.

I know...and credit to the Leigh fans who just laughed. I see on the Leigh board that there was some mither after the game. Shame really, but you always get idiots coming out of the woodwork for big games, not real RL fans. Every club has them unfortunately!!

Apparently,the bother at Leigh was boozed up idiots jumping on buses they weren't booked on. We always seem to get this problem a) at big games & b) When the football season is over. Anyway. Best of luck in the semi.

I had seen the same thing outside the Rodney.

I had a problem with the short tubby blonde one a couple of years ago at the magic weekend in Manchester. I had to remind him what rugby league was all about at what we stand for. I like banter but this lad seems to push my buttons every time I see him.

I had a quiet word with him again. Lets hope it stops. The Leigh fans I met were an absolute credit to there club and the banter was great. 3 shook my hand when I was leaving the ground and said they hope the wire go on the win it now. Fair play to them.

I know who you're on about, he's a little cretin. He's at most matches, constantly looking to cause trouble with his posse of 15 year olds.

Silly stuff involving our fans only, 840 folk had booked on the supporters coaches and were told to just get on anyone of them going home - recipe for disaster when ale had been involved.

A great craic and two sets of fans who respected one another imho - hope to meet you in SL 2016

Pity they can't handle their ale...it sounds like the crowd who were in the away end at Wigan a few months,throwing ale about when we scored & that nearly caused a fight in the stand.
