U9 Beat Bradford to staying top 4 : Fri May 22, 2015 9:20 am  

I see from the Twitter stream that the U19's just managed to beat Bradford last night. The match was at Odsal and it looked to be a very tight affair. They were 6-4 down at half time, coming back to win 14-6 - it will be interesting to see the comments from the match report. The corresponding fixture last year was 12-8 I think so there seems to be a trend of low scoring games between the two clubs.

Anyway, Wire are now comfortably in the top 4 (Wigan P11, 20pts, Saints P10 18pts, Hull FC P11 16pts, Wire P11 16pts) with only one game left in the first phase of the competition. Surprisingly Leeds are lying 6th and with their last match against Hull, could easily get dumped out of the top 6. I would guess they must have lost some of their more promising youngsters to the first team or on loan because they certainly have a constant stream of talent coming through from their academy.

Our last game in this phase is against Salford at home on the 27th I believe.

I was surprised to see the Salford Academy beating Leeds recently.

It will be interesting to see if the play-offs will remain as the top six if Leeds are outside the places. I still haven't seen the actual format or fixtures for June confirmed.

No, I have had a look on the RFL site but can't seem to find anything. Either it's a closely guarded secret, or they are ensuring that they can adjust the rules where necessary (LOL).

The RFL site is a bit lacking, doesn't seem to update that regularly.

I was just trying to work out who has got who left on the fixtures, I think Saints still need to play Castleford? Not sure about Wigan.

Wigan are probably the team to beat at this stage but if Warrington can cut the habit of giving the opposition a points start in the first half (to my recollection it has happened against Hudds, Hull, Wigan, Saints, Hull KR, Cas and Bradford to varying degrees) they stand a very good chance of picking up the title.

Fixtures and format permitting of course (whatever they may be).

I heard about that recently...funny how it is now top seven now that Leeds are in seventh lol

Is the top four play-off also home and away? If my maths is right that would mean 12+6 games plus the final?

When Walter said top 4 playoff, I assume he means 1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd, then winners through to the final ?

The PlayOff's will be 1v4 and 2v3 with the winners playing each other in the final.

About Leeds.....if Widnes hadn't conceded 2 tries in injury time at Salford last week then they would have finished 7th on points difference!!! Also if Huddersfield had beaten Saints they would have finished above Leeds as well!!!
