Hi guys,

I'll be in the UK for a short time and want to get to as many games as possible (don't let the username fool you, not from there, this will be only my second time to UK in my life).

Wire vs Widnes is that match that will be on while I'm there, just browsing the website and noticed that the South and West stands have the cheapest tickets. Now I assume the South has the best view of the match, but I wanted to ask you guys, which would be the fuller of the two? Of course I want to have a good view of the match, but more importantly would rather sit in a more lively/full part of the stadium.

South stand will be packed full of Warrington fans, West stand will be packed full of Widnes fans. Atmosphere will be hostile wherever you stand when it's derby day.

As said, the south stand will be full of wire fans and the liveliest part of the ground as the majority of noise comes from there with singing and drums. Not that we have much to sing about at the moment aha, enjoy your trip . If we win we'll ask you back

Well you can't sit in the West or South... well you can, but you will get a sore bum and not much of a view. As previously mentioned, the Widnes fans will be in the West, so if you like a Greek Tragedy by all means go there. On the other hand, if you go in the South it will be full of Warrington Spartans (hopefully more than 300). You will be able to visit the famous Wire timeline under the stand, admire our Elgin marbles, and for a few drachmas, purchase a refreshing drink in preparation for the second half bloodbath.

South Stand is a STAND in the literal sense. It's where the majority of Wires stand and sing...if you want to sit go for the North Stand.

Join in with the "we all hate Widnes" chants and you'll be alright!

Wow, thanks for the helpful replies guys! Yes, I realise both are standing room only, I suppose used the word 'sit' out of habit. Ok, so South stand it is! I cannot wait, really looking forward to it and really lucky timing that it's one of the derbies! Hopefully it will be a close game!

By the way, is it an unallocated stand? First in get to choose the best spots? Is that right?

Brilliant! Good to hear they accept drachmas win Warrington too, that was gonna be my next question

1. Not a chance.
2. Don't bother, go to the South West corner turnstiles and pay on the door, same price as a ticket on match day and you'll walk straight in. Need to pay cash though.
