I don't get the hatred for them
They both champion our game to the skies, and will have both forgotten more in 10 minutes, than most on here will forget in a lifetime.
They both broadcast/commentate (most of the time) with smiles on their faces. Compare that with some of the androids they have commentating on other sports (Match Of The Day in particular).

Yes, they irritate me
Eddie constantly calling Hull "the black and whites", yet he never calls Hudds "the claret and golds" or Leeds "the blue and ambers"
Stevo always saying "did he ever" "for mine" "terra ferma" "stanza"
Barrie with that b0ll0cks "staying on the island"
O'Connor for just being a poor man's Barrie
Carney for taking himself FAR too seriously
Clarkey for just being that irritating uncle at a family party, but your just too polite to say "#### off nxbend, and mither someone else"
Bill Arthur and Wells for being more boring than a wet Tuesday in Barrow.

Long may they reign.....just not so many of them, per broadcast

For me Eddie can stay, yes for,me he does champion our game but come on Stevo has been past his best for a good few years now.
Like any sport it moves on, the game Stevo played and let's give credit where it's due he was a top player was completely different to today's game. He is far too old fashioned and I feel is holding our game back, he has not re devolved his commentary style and should have gone years ago.

Stevo is past his sell by, he's now trawling up his comments from way back, they called it thugby, Les Boyd hit with a twelve month ban, hit them in the pocket, come on give us something interesting less of the inane ramblings, I don't know about staying on the island has anyone found the lost and found for lost hips.

Whatever they may or may not know. ...or if they champion our sport or not....no one should have to listen to biased commentary when a team is playing saints or Wigan. ..

they are far too unprofessional to still be doing their job...

I can listen to gary neville and Jamie Carragher be unbiased on a Liverpool v United game why can't these two idiots. ...

Need to get rid of Barry and terry. From listening to the Salford Leigh game ben Arthur sure as hell as changed his game. Maybe coincidence? Maybe they should look towards the Paul brothers they are good speakers

I like having a ref on the commentary - brings some rationale to the decisions. Cummings knows all of the rules - unlike the majority of the others.
Wells is excellent - I really love the analysis spotting things that we typically don't - often from a couple of plays back. I really rate him.
Carney is good and a more natural / confident presenter.

Phil Clarke irritates me with some banal observations, particularly stats related

I thought Terry O did well on the Leigh / Salford match and I think he adds something.
Barry Mac is less used and I've no strong view

That leaves Eddie and Stevo. The face of RL to many.

Knowledgable but sometimes plain wrong.
Eddie has some mileage left and he is a good presenter on the whole.
Stevo is a bit past his sell-buy date I'm afraid and doesn't add the technical insight that I think is needed for a back up man, given that Eddie is someone who loves the game but hasn't played at a top level. Jon Wells could do that job, or Brian Carney.
