Full back, he can cover all back positions but his best is deffo fullback, he can chime in the line and it also gives him the opportunity to jump in and scoot from the dummy half position (when we get a roll on) without disrupting the shape of the back line.

Always enjoy watching Ratchford play - looks to have all the talent in the world.

Get the impression that that he is not making the most out of his ability though - how much of that is down to the player or coach I'm not sure.

Why not try him at loose forward good tackler got pace and very good passer really like stefan.

Like tomkins ratchford is a wonderful talented footballer but alas doesn't have a natural position. Like Sam his best position is full back but neither are a natural fit there.

Stafan isn't the problem. We need to develop a gameplan to bring him in to the game much more. He's great with the ball, I also have no worries when the ball is put up high or with his one on one defence.

For me he is a great full back. I also see him as a good loose forward, but it will be a few years when he has lost a couple of yards of pace, and built himself up a bit.

I think we need to stop looking for him to jump in at dummy half and utilise him more out wide.

Yes excellent FB
Yes loose forward when 30+
But he is our best half.
I don't care where he plays, any of the three, so long as he gets his hands on the ball more than anyone else.

keep him at FB for me..... he still gets his hands on the ball alot.. he is also getting better there with every game... his reading of the game is improving all the time.

i dont think we will see Russell at 1 again anytime soon.

I agree. He has the space at FB and can chose when to cause chaos by joining the attack. Russell always makes good ground but is one dimensional in comparison.

But, can somebody please take the bloody goal kicking away from him.

....and again I ask the opening question.

Today, we see our one "strike" player, who every opposition is genuinely scared of occasionally, get the ball, when the game was crying out for a bit more of his input.

We need this lad with the ball in his hands, more often.
It really is that simple.
