How long will Smith persist with this low percentage play?

It cost us yet again tonight and could be quite easily the difference in why we did not win the game.

It's a very good play when a team is chasing the game but when the game is very much in the balance in a tight match its absolutely crazy to attempt it.

Good ploy yes, but there is a time and a place.

Needed to stop years ago though you can't argue with the one trying to stop the drop goal...it was the England one earlier that turned the tide.

I think the only time we should be attempting this is when the attacking team are deep in their own half.

Agreed, you can't argue with the charge down on the DG attempt.
But the one earlier when the game was right in the melting pot it was absolutely crazy.

A really dumb play. (which is a term usually reserved for Atkins' general play, so disappointed to still have to use it in his absence)

Think I've only ever seen one charge down come off for us, apart from charging down an attempted drop goal they are utterley pointless.

Just put pressure on the kicker let him get the kick away and then hit him late, just like Tony Clubb does.

Its very frustrating and causes us problems time after time... They have been turning points in some big games over the last few years.... However I think we scored a try off a Michael Monaghan one in 2011 though so as you were boys.... im sure we will get another one soon.
