Would there be any interest in radio coverage of a few u19s games? Other commitments may stop us doing lots of them...(work, junior rugby) but if theres interest we will see what we can do

Yes absolutely, that would be fantastic.
I am in Australia so obviously can't get to the games but I would definitely listen in.

From what I have seen the two players who look most likely to be the next to step up are Jack Johnson and Sam Wilde, both England players and deservedly so.

Spookily, they have both been added to the bench for the HKR game.

Brian McDermott paraphrased Peter Fox.
"He'd say if we had 13 Bernard Dwyers we wouldn't lose many RL games. It's the same for us with JJB"

Did the U19s on the bench get any game time?

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Yes. Philbin, Johnson, Wilde and George King came on for the last twenty minutes or so.

Re: U19 Competition 2015 : Sun Feb 22, 2015 11:39 am
I am excited for the season ahead as I am looking forward to see how the current players keep developing and also look forward to seeing some new faces step up,the three third years I am looking forward to seeing the most are Toby King,Sam Wilde and Jack Johnson, these three have got everything to play in the first team now! I have watched them from when they come into the academy,Sam is always on the move and a great tackler,Toby is a top,top player and seems to be getting stronger by the week and is a prolific try scorer,I have never seen a young player so hard to get down.Speaking to people around the club Toby has got everything to be a super league player but Jack johnson is the one they are most excited about as this lad has got the X factor with absolutely electric pace from fullback or on the wing,he is the quickest at the club and has scored some great individual tries with his pace and footwork, briers likes his confidence and is safe under the high ball,he has been the top try scorer in the last two seasons from wing and then last year from fullback,he also scored two crucial tries for England against France and Australia,Barrie McDermott selected him as one to watch and as one earlier post suggests he definately didn't get him mixed up with Toby but as that post said I am surprised Toby isn't on the list! With these three in the ranks and the lads being taken on from last year I think the future is bright for the wire from the academy production line!!
