There's the classic Warrington move from the scrum - loose forward picks ball up from base, ignores half back who's made an overlap & drops short ball off to full back who gets creamed by the opposition forwards leaving the scrum. Prize every time for that one.
I can remember about twice when we have used a kick over the top from the scrum - once for Kev Penny & once for Graham Appo. Why we don't use it more often with the pace of Riley, Mathers, King & now Atkins & Myler in the team I don't know.
There was a neat move Briers & Martin Gleeson used to do from the scrum that would see Gleeson coming in on short pass inside full back & winger creating an extra man & stepping inside to score. There was also the *** **** effort where he just dummied & legged it - usually against Salford. The best ever scrum move was against Saints where Scully picked up the ball at the base of a scrum on our 20 & dropped it off for Richard Henare who ran through the remains of the scrum & was over half-way before any Saints players knew what had happened. We lost that game by 2 points too!
