From what I gather Puletua can't have been registered last year as we the players that did play, and hence were definitely registered, took up our full non-fed quota.

This is the proverbial can of worms.
Forget TP for a minute.
Let's assume the side payment scenario is correct,which it might not be.
One assumes that he wouldn't have been the only one and several would have been in the squad this year.
So the problem would exist without TP.
And I hope they have HMRC correctly sorted,m'lud,unless the player is responsible for his own tax.

I think the "Can of Worms" is that the RFL probably realise that there would be a lot more clubs than Salford that would have questions to answer.

These kind of payments will be very common, the only issue is there probably hasn't been a case where the club haven't paid up so it hasn't been disputed in public as with Puletua v Koukash.

We all wondered why we had a player like TP sat in the stands for most of the early to middle part of last season, I guess this goes someway to explaining why.
