Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr
I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand your annoyance. The academy under Alan Hunte was poor, and was reflected in checks that were reported this season by the RFL. Six months improvement under the changed management I m sorry does not warrant No1 status. It will require sustained improvement, which the club is saying it is committed to.

Of course nothing to be annoyed about everything is rosy. Don't know what I'm worried about.
Koukash has had 3 years to build up the academy set up and we're now playing in the lower reaches just like we were when he took over. Where's the improvement? He's got them a new playing kit that's about. Pull the other one Lou Kate.
Please read what I wrote, and not what you wanted to see! I am no apologist for Dr Koukash. We do not deserve No1 status,he has removed the man in charge, having given him the opportunity to get it right, what more can he do? ' Pull the other one ' don't understand your comment, you are obviously too knowledgeable for me to disagree with you. Best wishes.

Marwan Koukash has been in charge now for 3 years. When he took over the academy had rightly been relegated because we didn't know if we'd even have a first team let alone an academy.
Marwan Koukash has to take responsibility for not giving us the proper resources, Alan Hunte could only work with what he was given. Marwan made promises about building a centre of excellence and building a top academy (another one of his pipe dreams). Now things like a decent academy don't happen over night and indeed can take many many years, but he's had 3 years to invest in the right facilities, in the community game and in the academy coaching staff and we've not improved a jot. Questions have to be asked why 3 years later there is still no improvement? Why were we still classed as very weak in our last academy assessment, the same as we were in 2012, 2013 and 2014?
Marwan has totally overlooked the importance of having a strong academy. Do you honestly think in 12 months times anything will have changed? I don't believe a word the club says quite frankly.
The assessment is based on more than just winning games (Gleeson and co have done a great job with that), its based on the whole set up and the whole set up of the club at the moment is a joke never mind just the academy. And it's down to one person. Marwan Koukash.
Me and are kid (TheButcher) putting the world two rights.

Ave It,you always put is as you see it and most of the regulars will feel the same about our club.
Before Marwan came on board we had 30+years of mis-management with the youth/academy set up so 3 years is a pretty short time to sort things out.
There have been several mistakes made and Marwan has been given some poor/bad advice over matters that he entrusted to others and he has made a rod for his own back by his use of social media and his unusual press conferences but if he had not come on the scene this topic would not have be aired because the club wouldn't be around to pass comment on.
Back to the academy set up ,I agree that off what I know Alan Hunte did a great job for many years with little resources and it appears that currently the resources have increased over many areas but improvement is still required, hopefully this will be addressed quickly.

I agree that 3 years isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things, but surely we should have seen some (if only slight improvements), but we haven't. If anything it's got worse. To have our academy side in tier 2 in his first year and maybe even his second or 3rd would have been acceptable if we could see things getting better and the academy set up was moving forward. For it to be at the end of his 3rd year (going into the 4th by the time next season comes around), shows that the club is going backwards and not forwards. Its just another body blow in a massive line of body blows.
As for not having a club. I don't buy into we would have had club, maybe not in the top flight (ok definitely not in the top flight), but we would have survived. It wouldn't have been a very nice existence, but neither is this to be honest.
All I want like everyone else that supports Salford is to see light at the end of the tunnel, Marwan provided this when he first took over. I'm afraid now I've come to the conclusion the man is nothing but a buffoon.

I was under the impression Dr Koukash was going to attempt to get hold of the stadium about 5 years after taking over and then having a hostel for the academy players constructed around/attached to the stadium. The plan was to have the first team achieve something and act as a magnet for young players from across a wide area. Wasn't Tim Sheens brought to your club to oversee all aspects, including the Academy,in February?
Wasn't the RFL going to have regional academies and Salford,as they weren't graded highly the other year, not going to benefit?
Please allow me the opportunity to encourage as much disruption as possible,so it impacts on your players,as from 5pm Sunday 13th of this month.
