I don't believe that any referees at the higher levels in UK RL are corrupt or biased.I do think that some are more competent than others but that is inevitable in any profession.
I also believe that there is the possibility of impressions from the very top of the RFL filtering down to referees at an almost subliminal level and for that reason I think our owner has been careless in the extreme in some of his comments about Nigel Wood, Bake Solly etc and the RFL management and decision making processes. Slagging off and ridiculing those in control is never going to turn out well is it? Sure, we all think that things could be run more effectively but the way to go about changing such an organisation is to gather support quietly behind the scenes then present your case when you have enough people on-side to have a chance of winning. Storming about, 5 minutes after arriving on the scene was never going to improve Salford's chances of advancement and ultimately Salford's success is all we really care about.
That said I am sincerely grateful to Dr K that I am saying "Salford's success" and not "Salford's survival"
