Match of the round: York City Knights v Sheffield Eagles.

Second best match of the round: Bradford Bulls v Leigh Centurions.

First off match Batley Bulldogs at home to Toulouse Olympique on a hillside stadium. After leading 12-10 at half time, Batley went down 12-38. Toulouse ran in seven tries to two. Assuming that Toronto beats Halifax on Sunday, Toronto will be in first place and Toulouse will be in second place in the Championship.

Surprised Leigh got beat by Bradford, and York got beat, opens it up massively.
We are now on 0 points :D and if our game in hand is won, we’re 3 wins off the play off places. Outstanding effort by Widnes today, a backline of 7 homegrown players scored 50 points. 1000 travelling fans too. Something good seems to be happening at the minute at the club.

Toronto showing again what they can actually do when they play to the potential of that squad.

Barrow Raiders 26 lost to Swinton Lions 33. This suggest that Barrow are under-performing, given their squad.

York City Knights 16 lost to Sheffield Eagles 24. This has strengthened Sheffield's top 5 prospects, though York might still make the top 5.

Rochdale Hornets 4 were thrashed by Widnes Vikings 50. No surprise there

Featherstone Rovers 22 lost to Dewsbury Rams 32. That was a surprise, though maybe shouldn't have been given Dewsbury's performances against table topping Toronto and Toulouse.

Bradford Bulls RLFC 26 beat Leigh Centurions 12. I expected Leigh to make more of a contest of it.

Halifax RLFC 12 were thrashed by Toronto Wolfpack 48. This suggests that Halifax are not really in the race for promotion this year.

If you looked just at this weekend's results you would have to say that the playoff for promotion to Super League will be between Toronto and Toulouse. However Widnes could make the playoffs and thus may have a say in this, though I doubt that Widnes will beat Toronto in the end. On the other hand injuries will play a part in what happens over a long season still to play. So Toronto, Toulouse and Widnes look like the main contenders for promotion.

One of your better posts that JC but I hope your right. I think we are in for a shout but if that’s the case, a couple of other are too. Toronto will be hard to beat Come finals day but as London showed last year, in a one off game it’s mkre than possible.

watched the highlights of the bulls game and for a long while it seemed to be pretty close until bradford scored 2 breakaway tries that came from leigh turning the ball over whilst on attack. i know you can't tell everything from highlights but it seemed a pretty tight contest
The referee's indecision is final
