so Let's scrap it and try to cash in on it by hosting our own version?

I remember the orgasm-a-fest that was the reaction the Auckland 9's a few years back, but now it seems that the NRL don't like sharing the cash with the people who created it, so have instead decided to have their own version.

Admittedly the attendance went from 90k to 22k in 4 years, but this does smack of the NRL trying to wrest control of something they didn't think of....and let's be realistic, of the 9's sides playing, how many players won't be Kiwi/Aussie Born?
JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

What a load of gibberish.
Toulouse for Championship in 2017, Super League in 2021!

Avignon for Championship in 2021, Super League in 2022!

A 9's world cup is a great idea and international 9's should be a regular thing. Its a format of the game which should be used to expand the game as it allows lower ranked nations to compete.

My only concern with this is what players will be playing in this? Will the elite players be playing.

After Sydney they should be taking this format to Hong Kong, Dubai, USA, Japan.

Maybe the RFL/Super league will actually wake up and realise we need a 9's game over here. Give me a 9's tournament instead of the current magic weekend and I would want to go to that.

Each to their own, I guess. Reasons for me not wanting to watch are broadly akin to those why I don't watch basketball.
"The problem when you play Leeds is that they are a huge 'confidence' side. If you get on top of them, they will cower and go away, but when they get in front their chests puff out and they start whooping as they make tackles. " (Jon Wilkin)

“Leeds just wander around looking like they’re doing nothing” (Jon Wilkin)

"Jon Wilkin's tight pants and coffee shop have not helped him to see the bigger picture or allowed him to get a firm grip on reality." (leeds owl)

The Auckland 9s were hailed as a success, but now are consigned to the bin inside 4 years...... To be replaced by a 9s world Cup played in Australia and endorsed by the NRL. Are you telling me I am wrong to question this or that Ireland v Lebanon will feature 18 Aussie NRL players?
As for you calling anything gibberish..... I'll take it as a compliment from the proffessor of bollox himself.
