Is Steven Price a good choice for Warrington coach? : Tue Nov 21, 2017 10:48 am
I am surprised that there has been little discussion of Warrrington signing Steven Price as its new coach.Steven Price has had limited NRL experience and the nearly three years he was in charge of St George-Illawarra were very unsuccessful.
Price's immediate predecessor at St.George-Illawarra, supercoach Wayne Bennnett, for his three years in charge had a 65% win ratio (the same as he has achieved with Brisbane Broncos), and this included a Grand Final win in 2010
From 2012-2014 Price coached 58 games for 21 wins and 37 losses. That amounts to a win ratio of 36%, which is truly poor. No wonder St George-Illawarra sacked him.
Price's successor Paul McGregor has had a 47% win ratio.
Warrington's owner must have panicked when his club was placed in the Middle 8s and threatened with relegation.
So I would be very surprised if Warrington are contending for silverware in 2018.
