The End of Leigh in Super League? : Sun Aug 13, 2017 9:49 am
All roads lead to Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Next weekend will determine whether Leigh leaves Super League in 2018. The Nowhere Land of rugby league will travel by airplane to Perpignan (the first air travel experience for many of the players and fans) to face Catalans in what will be a do or die match for both teams. If Catalans win their retention of a Super League place is virtually certain. If Leigh loses then, following their loss to the well coached Hull KR, they can virtually say goodbye to Super League.

Who will miss Leigh being in Super League? Almost nobody other than Leigh fans. The club has given nothing to Super League other than a third chance to the thug Gareth Hock. A Super League that has Warrington, Catalans, Hull KR and London in it in 2018 will be a better place.

Having watched one of your favourites yesterday, I can't say that I fully agree on your resume

Leigh are looking vulnerable, this must have been seen as a banana skin that they had to overcome. Unfortunately they tripped up.

There will be more twists and turned yet.

Can Fev ruin Londons chances and will Fax scare Widnes- all will be revealed this afternoon

This will be a record match of penalties for high tackles.

What happens if Catalan lose though ?

Mind you, I want Les Cats to stay in SL.
A trip over there is better than a suburb of Wigan or East Hull all day long :D

Although the new structure has given a pathway into SL, the old problem of a promoted club staying up hasn't gone away and were in for an interesting few weeks.

Great win for KR though and they look to have got themselves a minimum of home advantage in the MPG and they could avoid the game altogether if they can gain another SL scalp.
Widnes beware !

I agree with all of that, my point was that the current Catalans set up bring very little to Super League, the emphasis on current, as I'm not having a go at them for bringing a colourful flag as their away support. Their play was poor, their attitude was poor, they offered nothing yesterday apart from a bit of niggle.

Big game next week against Leigh, I hope Leigh put up a fight rather than allowing Catalans to muck about away and think that they can survive by winning their home games

More likely the end of Catalans in SL.

Definitely think we'll be seeing one SL team go down now. Warrington have already done their trickier fixtures and will coast through to 'promotion'. HKR have home fixtures vs Widnes and Catalans to come and I'd fancy them to win one, even away to Warrington final week could be winnable with Warrington more than likely having their feet up having qualified already.

3 way battle between Catalans, Leigh and Widnes to survive for me.

After all these years, I still can't see what Catalans bring to Super League.
I'd rather have thousands of Hull KR or Leigh fans paying through our turnstiles than the half dozen that "travel" to support Catalans.
