We can't win, if we were in a challenge To win the cup or the LLS it would be that we would suffer from burn out. Now we're out of the cup and have smashed the league we won't be battle hardened. The only genuine concern I have is we haven't been in the grand final before and the occlusion could get to us if we get there. Do I think it will ??? Not personally, as I said if we're at our best we blow anyne away but it gives the newly formed cas haters club some straws to grasp at until October I suppose.
The "burn out" line is one that only Cas fans are using to try and make them ok with being dumped out of the cup. And you didn't burn out in 2014, you just weren't good enough when it came to the crunch and bottled it.
Plenty of teams recently have reached both Wembley and Old Trafford. Leeds (2015) and Wigan (2013) won both, Warrington reached both last year. Leeds and Warrington faced each other in both 2012 major finals sharing the wins and Leeds lost at Wembley in 2011 but won the Grand Final. Freshness isn't as important as experience, form and momentum. Cas are going to have two weekends off for the CC SF & F, they don't need 5 dead rubbers on top of that especially if Saints or Wigan are their playoff semi final opponents, Cas fans better be praying that neither of those finish 4th because you can see what's going to happen.
[quote="brearley84"]for huddersfield i feel it will be plenty of dead rubber games for us pretty soon, objective for 2017 has already been acheived and im happy with that from where we have come from.
Exactly it's mission accomplished for the Giants this year! Wakey got slated last year for not being competitive in the Super 8's, but with the format in place, you might as well get blokes who are carrying knocks rested or booked in for early ops.

We did burn out in 2014, just because it in your head you say we didn't doesn't make it true. I watched all the cas games after wembley and was obvious we were completely shot. I'm sure people that actually watched cas on a regular basis after wembley 2014 will tell you the same. And I have actually never heard any cas fan ever say he was happy we were out of the cup. It was a tight game which Hull won because the home game gave them the edge they needed imo. Are you just making things up ??? To say Cas fans are happy we are out of the cup is absolutely ludicrous and at the same time makes you look a blatant liar, I'll take this as a compliment as people around here never used to be bothered enough to talk and make up poop.
Deadly honest I forgot not give an absolute poo who finishes 4th as they will be more afraid of us than we are of them weather that be saints, Wigan or Huddersfield they have to come to us and beat us for the first time in a over a year. Both Wigan and Saints (and many others) have had 50 put on them at our place and with Saints we beat them in the league with our under 12's. while I appreciate the semis are different are they that much difference ??? Not from what iv seen to be honest. If we are at our best we will blow anyone that finishes 4th off of the park it's that simple.

They also got slated the year before by bringing in players for the Middle 8's.

Here's one for you.

Think I'm in an minority of one, and it feels wrong, but I didn't want to win today. It's so difficult to win the cup and the league, I'm happy for us to focus on one competition.
I just prey it's not Cas v Leeds in the final, I'm sick of watching blow-out scores between the two.

There was a topic about 10 pages long where a Cas fan continuously said they were happy to be out the cup. Cas at their best would beat anybody who wasn't at their best on the day. However, if it was a one off, knock out game, against either Hull or Wigan at THEIR best, then I'd put my money on Hull/Wigan. Probably also Leeds. Saints will be an interesting proposition when they finally get Barba on the pitch so I wouldn't rule them out either. Cas fans are, in my opinion, seriously underplaying the value of big match experience and the players who've been there and done it coming to the fore on the big occasions.
FWIW I think Leeds will be going all out for the cup. If we get to the final, win or lose I'd say that will be it for the year.
Cas have easily beaten us every game this year, and if they are in form I just can't see us beating them. I could see Sts, Hull or Wigan giving them a game but not Leeds.
I may be alone but I wouldn't mind a Hull-Cas GF anyway, to guarantee a new name on the trophy. Given the way they play I'd ideally like to see Cas win because it would be nice for the most attacking team to win the competition.

Maybe we are or maybe your overplaying that factor with the form and confidence seaping through the club at the moment. I guess nodoby will be proven right until October !!!
