Things like holding the game in London on a Saturday afternoon rather than a Sunday afternoon as that makes it far easier for people to travel to and from, especially if you want to present it as an "event". I agree the timing of the games seems odd.
That said they have now opened part of the Upper Tier for Olympic Stadium, so sales must be decent. Had a quick scan of tickets for Coventry and there doesn't seem to be a single block sold out which isn't the best of starts, but still a few weeks to go.
