From many accounts all the Burgess brothers especially Sam have being bang average, some were saying that they'd be lucky to make the England 17 on current form. I don't watch the NRL so can't comment personally, just what I read of NRL followers.

Souths have been pretty poor all season, but Sam's been one of the more reliable players for them, even if he hasn't been at his best. George has had injuries that kept him out for a couple of months.

As for the original post, would be surprised if he came back to England, they've all got business interests over there now and at least half of the NRL clubs would be interested in Tom.

Sam will be back to his best next year i think, it was a long shot he would be absolutely ripping it this year after the spell in Union and all that came with it. Like you say, he hasn't been bad, but he is on huge money so is under microscope big time.

Still think all 3 have a big role to play for England in the Autumn and Souths not making the play offs could be a good thing for us, get them rested and over here early.

Tom was always the weakest of the Burgess's at Bradford. His ball retention was very poor. No doubt the Aussies will have worked on this weakness. He'll still be a good signing in SL. But I don't think he's be in my England 17.

Totally agree. All of Souths big names have been poor this year, Inglis notably so, Reynolds too.

Sam has been bad with ball retention too. It must be hard after playing for a year a game where ball retention in the tackle is against the rules.
