Shaun Wane could make a donation to charity only for some to accuse him of being flash with money.

The team has played some horrible rugby this year, and there are plenty of problems at Wigan, but if anything he deserves nothing but praise for having steered the club to third place and a cup semi-final given the horrendous amount of injuries. At no point has he been able to pick his top 9 players, let alone a first choice 13. Contrast it to Leeds and the way McDermott has coped with their player crisis, or likewise Anderson at Huddersfield and people are allowing their bias to show through not to credit someone who not only does more than anyone in the game to bring through youth talent but clearly has the personality to inspire and drive his players to give their all.

Huge praise indeed but that shouldn't prevent an individual from being humble, whilst also offering praise when due even to the opposition and or referees etc

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

Re: Sean wane class shines through : Wed Jul 27, 2016 6:44 am
He's very much had to rely on using his wingers a lot more in attack with more emphasis on defence to scrap for wins. Metres gained, clean breaks and tries scored are very poor this season for the club. I wouldn't say Wane class has shown through its more doggedness and wanting to win at all costs. He's also been a bit of a hypocrite at times in the media on his post match comments.

I don't know why Lenegan doesn't put his foot down. A media blackout of sorts. Every post match game say - "*X team* played well and they deserved the win/glad we got the win". I'd rather have a boring coach than one who riles thousands of RL fans every week.

You do realise your coach is Kieron Cunningham don't you? His interviews are absolutely pathetic and hilarious when talking about your team.

Yes Cunningham is pathetic and not media savvy, but he is not an experienced hypocrite like Wane. Cunningham will not show bias towards your club, he's not bothered who beats Wigan.

I don't think anyone is doubting he's done well with a depleted squad. That's not the issue. It's the back-handed compliments when they get beaten and the digs at the ref that are laughable. I mean, he complained about Saints slowing the PTB down and stated the ref allowed them to do that. It's like he sees a different game when his team don't have the ball! Saints were no worse than Wigan were. The fact he sounds like Ted Bovis doesn''t help his cause much either. "Leave 'em laughing Spike!" He certainly does that!

I think if he's guilty of anything it's speaking like a fan. He's Wigan through and through, and maybe he doesn't have the impartiality other coaches have to see the game in quite so neutral terms. They all mention the refs when results go against them, I think a lot of people just look for anything to have a go at about him or Wigan.

As far as I see from Friday, he said the better team won, and mentioned the refs had a bad game, pretty much what every other person watching the game said (on both sides)!
