That's really good to hear, and it's also good to hear the change of ownership is in the works. A couple of questions :

Why will York not be promoted, and how will that effect the Super 8's and play offs e.g. if York finish 2nd ?

[ i guess we will have to wait for an RFL statement ].

Will York be travelling to Toulouse next week?

The RFL have been absolutely fantastic too, and continue to be so. They are in the process of setting up a newco in order for the new club to see out the season. Head Coach James Ford and the vast majority of his squad are signing for the new club. The only shame is that they cannot be promoted this year.

This will allow any interested parties - and there's a few - to build a strong, minimum 3yr business plan knowing exactly what league they're going to be in next year to start. The RFL will then hand over the club to the strongest bidder, and everyone is happy!

City of York council, while far from perfect, have done nothing wrong here. The former owner engineered the situation to try and make him out to be the victim, like he always has. Thankfully everyone has now seen his true colours.

is Guilford still the owner? if so I understand why they are in the poop, the guys a crook

Well they are technically a newco now, and they have to start from the bottom, just like Toronto really. If they finish in a promotion spot, then almost certainly 11th place in the Championship will be saved.

York will be in Toulouse next week yeah.

I'm assuming this means York can get promotion now if they're sold as opposed reformed?
