There is no way on earth that was a legitimate tackle. No way whatsoever. This one isn't a matter of interpretation or opinion, it's plain fact. It was an illegal and dangerous tackle. Definite sin bin verging on red card.

King Richard III would be most appropriate.

The only defence of that tackle is that is wasn't intentionally bad, he's ended up pile driving Gibson onto his neck and he's lucky to come away with only a dislocated shoulder!

Definitely not a legitimate tackle. The OP clearly hasn't looked back on it or doesn't know you can't lift the legs above the horizontal.

I've seen a lot worse. Did the ref even blow for a penalty at the time though? The brawl seemed to start because the players were taking matters into their own hands. I doubt it would have been a yellow had they my brawled about it.

About right. Most times players land ok and walk away from those. I don't think there was any real intent in the tackle it was more clumsy and typical of this oafish player but it was illegal and ten minutes was about right.

As for the facebook bit, so what.

How are Widnes fans (and their whiney coach) justifying making themselves victims of some terrible injustice in relation to this game? Are they forgetting that they had 1 player sent off and 3 sin-binned?

Have you seen the trust in Widnes forum? Very cringeworthy to read.

And how can they feel hard done by - wasn't the penalty count in their favour? And we spent the second half with only two players on the bench compared to their four.

We spent over a quarter of the game with five on the bench so should have won by your logic, plus the penalty count was in Wakefields favour.
