Wildcats Finally Register Win to Keep Hull FC Out of the EightAfter the east side of the city went into eighth spot last night, the Black and Whites of Hull needed a win to re-establish themselves in the super eights. But they were up against a new look Wildcats with their ranks swelled by new signings in Kevin Locke, Jordan Tansey and Michael Sio but still missing several influential players including Smith, Lauitiiti and Kirmond.



FC chose to rest several first teamers (Whiting, Pryce and Minichiello) as they played their second game of three in nine days, a calculated gamble from Lee Radford against a team looking for their first win in seventeen games, and a chance to get a winning habit before the all-important middle eights competition.

I give it 2-3 weeks before Jean's back to proclaiming him as the greatest import of all time.

Nah, he plays for wakey, jean isn't a fan. On a side note, full credit to them, steadily improved last few weeks and should enter the middle 8s with confidence. Fev thrashing Bradford puts the cat amongst the pigeons too.

Locke was at half pace yesterday. He clearly has more skill than anyone else at Wakefield (and Salford) but he just needs to pick up his fitness. He took a few hard hits from Hull so we'll see how he goes for Sunday but some of his little touches in both defence and attack were outstanding and although not the only one, was significant in the win.

I look forward to his progress

Wakey should go into the middle 8's with real confidence after this win.

Amazing what a difference the appointment of Smith as coach has made in such a short space of time. Reminds me of when we (Tigers) brought Stuart Raper in to ressurrect our season.

Very noticable as well how the ex-Hull players went (Miller and Arundel).
