Kelly's Heroes Defeat Devils in Thriller In a rearranged fixture from the earlier rounds of the Challenge Cup, Hull KR took on the Salford Red Devils in East Yorkshire with their eye on sixth spot ahead of the other side of the city playing tomorrow night. A win of any description would see KR up to eighth and a win by 40 or more would see them above Warrington into seventh. The Red Devils needs a win to keep them in touch with the eight, and to retain a slim hope of the super eights, but it would need to be a massive points win to get them up just a single place on the league ladder. It sounded like a decent game on the radio, unlike the commentary I had endure!

I just happened to check the score on BBC when I noticed live radio coverage, there were two choices but I didn’t care, I just wanted it as background sound whilst I was attempting to research some stuff.

I digress, Who is this Gwilym bloke?

His one eyed observations of the match were bad enough, but his miniscule knowledge of the opposition was delightfully captured with “Mantellato kicks off to….. a Salford player”

As for his sidekick - just get off the fence.

His sidekick was sitting on the fence !!!!

That's unusual, he usually comes out with 'Warrington/Wigan/Saints/Hull/ lost it rather than Rovers won it', he is usually well to one side of the fence.

radio humbersaaard is hilarious at times,

after KR narrowly beat the giants at easter, we had it on in the car on the way home, they were bigging rovers up as if they were grand final contenders, "rervers are the reyal deyal this year" they were excitedly claiming, and the fans followed suit, claiming they were gonna steamroller their way to the title

i know local radio tends to be biased towards it's teams but radio humberside takes it to another level!

Strange that. I don't recall any 'Rervers' fans claiming we would win the title.
