Bad memories of that place. It's the place where I heard the 'C' word for the first time.

With regards the Yorkcourt development. Isn't this more a case of the council not having access to as expensive lawyers as the developer rather than incompetence?

I genuinely spectacularly misunderstood what you meant by 'C word' and inexplicably thought you'd been diagnosed with Cancer at a football ground.

I would say both, but at the end of the day, the stadium was used as a carrot to get the development through.

New jobs created, more business rates for a cash strapped council, no stadium for the long suffering & dwindling Wakefield support, move along people...

Think the main point of this thread is that it was sorted. Then the developer back-tracked and Wakefield MDC conveniently looked the other way.

The delivery of the S106 is the responsibility of WMDC led by Mr Box (you may be familiar with him). He represents the people of Wakefield and he is failing in his duty. Why are the facilities promised to the people of Wakefield failing to materialise, but the area is being developed?

Because the all-powerful Wakefield Trinity R.L.F.C, failed to read the small print apparently .

If they had noticed the scurrilous actions of the developer they could have informed the Council who would have immediately intervened & saved the day, wouldn’t they?
