That's the one! It's a sure-fire way to end decent discussion even if the thread continues.

Where is Gutterfax when you need him, to divert it to an attendance discussion.

I'm sure you're right, although in fairness to Caisley the extent to which Harris's talent had waned could not have been predicted. I've never seen any player return from the other code so diminished.

his talent was diminshed but his gut certainly wasnt. Signing Harris ultimatley led to the demise of bradford, it was a disaster finacially and srom a sporting perspective

I'm not sure, Henry Paul was pretty gash, as was Del Sailor.

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......

I think those saying he has solely gone for the money are a bit wide of the mark, for you as an individual that might be the case but how can you honestly say without doubt that that is the case for Burgess?
have you thought that actually people like challenges, to have new experiences when those chances come along, to better yourself (not in a pure rugby sense because that just isn't happening).
Not only does he get a nice big salary he surely knew that the toll on his body wasn't going to be anything like that in RL as many have said it'll be a good rest for him by comparison.
And one of the big perks is being able to see family members & friends whom are UK based a darn sight easier than being in Oz for 10 months of the year, certainly not a deal breaker but it's another small aspect that adds to the reasoning on the plus side.
Whatever his reasons those being critical is reflective of them as a person, you don't need to understand his motives because frankly it isn't any of your business. I watch a bit of union to catch the scores, see who's doing anything special but can't manage more than the edited highlights because for the most part it's w'nk to watch, if Burgess is playing union so what, good luck to him.

Actually it is Important to know, so the NRL and SL can decide if they need to do something about it in the future.i suspect the prospect of taking his annual earning from $500k to $1million was the major factor.im sure the World Cup and possible Olympics was probably the carrot they dangled to get the deal over the line but without the significant salary increase would he have gone? Very unlikely. So why is it important to know this? Well if the nrl wants to keep its star attractions and continue to raise it's profile the media darlings like burgess are critical. If it is just about money the nrl has truck loads of it ($50mill profit last year) and can decide if it wants to invest some of that in keeping stars in the competition.

Yes he has gone but should we care? Too right we should, Rl is the poorer for it.

Actually no it isn't except maybe to potentential employers and their sports' organisations, to fans on here it is totally irrelevant and my point was the apparent critisism/finger pointing at Burgess re his decisions is unjustified 'talk' with no basis of fact unless forum members have spoken to Burgess direct and asked him for an honest opinion as to why. Some on here seem keen to roject that he has gone to RU purely for the cash, even if he has it's none of their business.

Gutterfax got banned for swearing unnecessarily at someone once too often. He came back as Enigmatic, same old tosh he spouts though.

McDermott is going. I actually think he is more relaxed because of it, and seems to have let the shackles go. He apparently asked to finish the season, and that is what they agreed.

Looks like he's gone on holiday with his mate Galiant. Weird how they've both done one at the same time.
