Obviously I'm biased but Briscoe has proven that he can do alot more than just scored tries and some brilliant ones at that. Charnley although he's a very good winger and one of the best English wingers around is fortunate to be playing for easily the best team in the comp were alot of his tries are handed to him. Which he mentioned himself on the Super League show the other night. Can't recall seeing him break a tackle and go the full length of the pitch or anything of note.
Like I said I'm obviously going to be bias but for me Hall and Briscoe are the two best wingers for England at the minute, followed by Charnley.
Where has this theory come from that wingers have to go the full length to be good?
A good winger imo is one that can defend his corner well when asked too and is in the position to score tries should the ball come to him. Yes some of Josh's tries have been 'put on a plate' but a lot of them have taken some scoring, be it outpacing his opposite number, grounding the ball from a kick or squeezing his way over ala Ryan Hall. They haven't been Ade Gardner-esque 'catch and put down' tries.
