Centurions March Into Quarter Finals with Salford Win

One of the most intrigueing ties of the fifth round draw threw together near neighbours Leigh Centurions and the Salford Red Devils for a game at the Leigh Sports Village as one of the top sides in the Championship went head to head with a side still looking for Super League consistency.
Eight league places separated the two sides but Salford came into the game in the full knowledge that there was plenty of Super League experience in the Centurions side and that the home crowd would be baying for the blood of their rivals from ten miles down the A580.
The bookies fancied an away win but not by much and the cameras of SKY were there to witness the unfolding excitement with Leigh hoping to extend their nine match winning run.

Lowly Leigh march on after slaying the Salford Red Devils.

Over to you Jean for your match analysis on how a Championship club could not possibly beat a Super League side.

Indeed Roy, if Salford had 'stuffed us' Jean, Sir Kevin (twins) and Lebron would have been taking the mickey, but strangely they are nowhere to be seen. Jean has gone into Chorley town centre, to drown his sorrows. What a pathetic bunch..... :ROCKS:

So Lowly Leigh put Sub Standard Salford to the Sword & still the Pro Expansionist Twateratti don't want Leigh in Dooper Dooper League .....

All this despite the FACT that Leigh will financially bring more to their Clubs than the likes of TW, TO13 & Laughable London !!!!

More fans, spending approx £25 per person on tickets *around 1300 or more depending on opposition opposed to Salfords 300 & TW 20 or TO13 nil or Laaandans 30* + approx £10 p.p on food/drink (not unreasonable)

Leigh would bring a stronger team with a more stable Club & contribute to a greater atmosphere ! But no, let's vito Lowly Leigh for the huge hoardes of TW, T013, Laaaandan Village, Wakey, Hudds, Salford or Widnes !!!!

Now that would make sense wouldnt it ?

How inevitable, a thread about a Leigh Centurions game against Salford and within a few posts, someone brings up Toronto Wolfpack and away fans. The envy, fear and obsession runs deep within that club.

It wasn't just Toronto that was brought up.

A rubbish argument really if your being selective to make a statement.
