I understand that Cummings may be talking about the rule but to disallow that would seriously be against the spirit of the game. Both went up for the ball, Percival was stronger in the contest and reaped the reward - simple as.

I can see where you are coming from but it's no more against the spirit of the game than the 10m infringement rule. And if there are rules that aren't in the spirit of the game then we need to change them not ignore them.

Wigan are the most structured team I have ever seen in this country.

Very hard for them now to back up on Monday as they must be knackered after that? Body and mind?

Certainly hope so.

Cracking game that - very intense; although to hear Cummins at the end begging for a brilliant try to be disallowed was disappointing. Even Phil Clarke was calling for it to be given - and he can hardly be called partisan when Wigan are involved.

As a Wigan fan I see where you are coming from with this. 2 players competed for a kick and Percival came out on top. If that had been disallowed against my team I would have been furious.

I can see where Cummings is coming from, if you wanted to be pedantic and overly technical you could argue that Tierney caught the ball and it was stolen in the air but for me comment sense says the correct decision was made.

I have to say credit to both teams for offering up a fantastic game of rugby, though dissapointed I'm proud of the effort and performance of my side.

Well said. For a wiginer that is, with a little smile on my face.

It was embarrassing to listen to! When are they gonna get rid of that clown Cummins? From a neutrals point of view that was a great game to watch, and as much as it pains me to say it you just have to give the Wigan club credit for their youth system. Those lads are a credit to the club and should hold their heads high.

I like Cummins take on things. He gives it by the book, not his own opinion. Which is useful in arguing with the muppets on here. FWIW I thought it should have been a try every day of the week.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Almost as annoying was Angela Powers then going on to say....

Some people are saying........

Media quoting media is not the same as taking a survey of the watching public.

What she should have said is everyone bar one person in the world thought it was a try.
We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Would you be so kind then as to inform me where in the book it states only the defender can compete for the ball.

As Escare is second choice I would say we can't wait for star English full back Sam Tomkins, sorry Samuel Tomkins to return.

Stop the Samuel palaver as I have had enough of the amphibian in my throat and binned it. :D
