1 month loan to Keighley. Timing seems odd with Easter coming up. Could leave us short if hudds or cas recall their players.

True but we also have Kirk and Andrade who can come in if need be.
Although I really don't understand the logic in loaning players out when we are running a reserve side. If he needs fitness then just play him in the reserves? I don't get it.

Strange as you say, especially with the games coming thick and fast in the next couple of weeks. I doubt Bustin, Johnson or Wood will get recalled. All were in the cup squad which would have made them cup-tied for their parent clubs.

Reserve side don't have many games, also if he is out on loan they might pay some of his wage

Might also have something to do with bolstering Keighley's squad during a time where they will be facing three of leagues stronger teams (York, Hunslet and Oldham)?

If Davies is that good that he swing matches on his own, then surely he should be playing for us?

Not at all saying he is that good, but adds another forward to a pack that appears short of confidence and go forward. He's by far no where near our first team but he played regularly in the Championship last year so improves what they have got.

Key difference between two scenarios is whilst he’s playing for reserves he’s instantly available for first team. At Keighley we can’t recall him for 28 days if we get injuries.
If he was a young player breaking through I’d absolutely agree he’s better off on loan getting experience, but Davies has been around a while so not sure he’s going to improve much and should just need match fitness which reserves provides.
