Will the club go forward?? : Mon May 22, 2017 1:09 pm
Well.........this season is the first that I have never had a season ticket or attended any games. For however long I can remember I never missed a home or away game and always bought both shirts every season but after what has gone on, I realised that my money was just going to waste. Do I feel guilty about not going? After what I have been reading in reports, absolutely not.

Its such a shame because I loved the club so much but does anyone know where my money would go? I stand up and applaud every fan that still goes week in week out but I just cant do it anymore.

I have a very strong feeling that come the end of the season we will be in admin again and that will be the end. Why would anyone want to invest in us?

Yes I might be a bad fan now for not going but I can think of much better things to spend about a grand on each season. At least I would know where it goes.

If I knew where my money would go and we had some transparency within the club then I plus quite a few fans would be back. Until then, no chance.

Rant over. :DEPRESSED:

Well, it's hard to agree with this SB.

I didn't get a season ticket this year for the first time in many years - I felt there was just too much uncertainty and too many unknowns to feel confident that my money would be well spent. Do I regret it? Not at all. I've been to four home games and actually enjoyed it - but I didn't go yesterday and not sure I'll be going again this season.

The gutting thing for me is the way that the fans, yet again, are totally taken for granted. After everything that we have suffered over the last few years, we are once again expected to provide our loyal and unwavering support, in fact there is the undercurrent that suggests that we are being disloyal by not doing so.

Think things have reached a tipping point. We're not at home again until 11th June by which time we'll have played HKR and the crunch game at Dewsbury.

Two more defeats and there won't be many there to see another versus Fev.

After everything that we have suffered over the last few years

Lets not forget that you have probably also seen success that most fans can only dream of yet when your club needs you the most you have both jumped ship. Don't get me wrong I do not blame you but fans like you both do get my goat, its as though by staying away you think that everything will turn good again and then you can jump back on the bandwagon. I feel the exact same way about the Fax fans that have stopped following us over the years as well. Bradford are going to end up a very similar club to Halifax if they can survive the next couple of seasons and the only way for that not to happen is for people to keep going through the gates.

I get it, I really do but why bother coming on here telling people why you aren't going? Everyone can see the problems at Bradford so you are just saying what everyone already knows yet a lot of people are still trying to do something about it.

Thanks for the assumptions GFB, which are well wide of the mark BTW. For the record I first attended in 1969 as a small boy with my dad, and kept going through plenty of lean times, including a season when we got relegated to then Division 2, and another season (was 1976, I forget?) when we only avoided relegation with a squeaky win in the last game. There have been plenty of bad times, and I've sat through some absolute dross, for example when David Hobbs was coaching us.

So, hardly a fair weather fan. What seems different (to me, at any rate) is the way that it would seem we are being manipulated at the moment. The whole saga of admin, liquidation, the process by which the current owners got the club when there were apparently better offers, the whole things seems shady at best (and downright corrupt at worst). Then there's the persistent rumours that this season doesn't matter as we won't get relegated anyway. The whole thing seems really weird, as if there are many other forces at play that we are not being told about.

TL:DR I can support the club when we aren't successful, I've done that for most of the past 50 years. But the way things are this season is something quite different, and not in a good way...

So you have been around long enough to know it was unlikely a knight in shinning armour would turn up and throw a load of money at the club after what has happened which again begs the question I have asked numerous times on here, what were you expecting? You are the 8th best team in this division and from what I have seen that is probably about right, you have been dealt almost an impossible hand because of the RFL panicking and not knowing what to do(I still believe they thought or think they can help Bradford, afterall they would be stupid not to) but you just have to get on with it. I truly believe if this had of been some other club like Rochdale or Dewsbury then that team would no longer exist or at least would not be at this level so again its not a great place to be but you still have a club.

Well in a few months time Bradford won't be at this level and there is a chance they could no longer exist as a result - in that case we should just be grateful to take a season full of pastings just to say our farewells?

You ask what were we expecting - in terms of results about the same, as what's happened. In terms of the club itself, is it too much to ask for some direction? That's narking me off more than the results. The radio silence to me says they are taking the fans for granted and that's what makes it hard to put any sort of commitment towards the club at the moment.

The only reason we are in this division is because we went bust after the fixtures came out. Had this happened last August or something, it would be a different story IMO.

Summed up pretty well there amberavenger.

Think GFB's opinions are somewhat influenced by opinions expressed by Bulls fans not on this forum.

The only way I can describe how the club feels at present is that it's a shell. Nothing is ours
- No ground (but we do currently have fans before the Wealdstone Raider kicks off)
- No complete squad of our own
- No turnstiles open
- No coach
- No card payments
- No refreshements to speak of
- No plan
- No communication
- No direction
- No chance of avoiding relegation
- No Leon Pryce
- No Scott Moore
- No experience
- No chance of keeping Ethan Ryan
- No chance of keeping Bentley
- No hope whatsoever

The only thing we have is 3000+ fans but by the end of the year I will be joining the no column I would imagine...

And before you go on about dis-loyal fans there's only so many times you can be kicked in the b4lls before you finally walk away. If you stay for more then your sanity is in question.

A string of owners, r4ped of our top talent, stripped of all assets, relegated, humiliated whilst all the while being called teachers pet...and then being forced to take owners who seemingly have no interest, whilst the RFL plays a game of it's own ingenious but utterly disconnected making, whilst the imaginary squad they envisage starting on -12 is picked apart leaving willing but seriously outgunned juniors to take a thrashing week in week out?

When would you walk away?
