I don't hate him, but he didn't save the club. His wasn't even the highest offer. If he hadn't got it, someone else would.

Well I wasn't sure what a literal merchant was so I Googled. Turns out Marco Polo is a merchant, literally, and the computer definitely didn't say 'no merchant' so I have to admit: you've lost me. Can you explain?
