No many smart business men want to get involved in Rugby League as it is a poor investment with no bottom line. Much as the Green ownership turned sour it was more than likely the best bid on the table. He kept the team full time invested probably a couple of million and the team/coaches failed to deliver. How is this Green fault? He ran out of money or refused to invest more as he realised the dream was no longer a reality with his money running out.

Green would I’m sure admit to some mistakes during his time with us. The whole Lowes/Ferres bust up and the pots on money wasted on players is a big one.

How much of what is happening now would have happened if the Bulls made the top 4, and saw a home game v Leeds and guaranteed central funding double/treble what they would be getting now? Possibly nothing, the club would have the money to cover this HMRC debt it would have been sailing close to the wind but might not have had to apply for administration.

How is the RFL supposed to control or foresee that?

They could have had Ben Thaler blatantly cheat to let us beat Featherstone

It may have gone wrong for Mr Green due to his security company experiencing difficulties.

I think you may be doing Mr Lamb a disservice.I believe he was challenged to show proof of funds over a Bank Holiday weekend. As everything shuts-down,he couldn't.

Some people questioned why a London based business man would be interested.Well,he has got involved at Rotherham.

The Fit and Proper person test is based on past problems/dishonesty.I think the far from novel-thinking RFL just follow the path started by the FA - so it will now be the Directors Test.

We are all making comments based on what little information we have, dis-information made up by people and assumptions from the outside looking in.

Maybe the RFL are at fault maybe they aren't. However, I think that given that this is the second time in four years that the owner signed off by them has taken the club into admin within 2 years it warrants a review of RFL processes.

It might be that processes are not questionable but - as this brings the game into disrepute - it needs to be seen by the fans as stakeholders in the game that RFL are not at fault.

Hindsights wonderful. Green actually put in a lot of good things for the business. I think he got caught up inthe Bulls deserve to be in SL and combine that with the incompetence of Ferres and Lowes, we are where we are.

What i do blame the RFL for is the scandal that happened after Omar took over. We have a new person coming into a sport that is crying out for money, and along with the other SL clubs and the RFL, utterly screwed him over by making up a rule of fining us half our central funding to be shared among the other SL clubs. It was a scandal and a stronger owner would have challenged that.

Think that was down to the other SL clubs rather than the RFL. It was an indefensible move whatever.

And as said on t'other thread, it was actually forfeiting ALL our Sky money. ONE YEAR ZERO SKY MONEY.

(But showing their true kind-heartedness, they spread it over 2 years, as if that was helping.)
