Much as it pains me to say so, since there is little else going on at this time of the year, but it might be nice if posters stuck a little nearer to the topic?

I'm not asking much - about as near the as the actual play the ball sticks to the relevant laws of the game would do - but specifically, can we please stop the ad hominem stuff and debate the points raised?

I agree with whoever said that Macnamara was the wrong coach with the wrong team at the wrong time when he was with us.

But that was a while ago now.

He's obviously improved his coaching skills whilst he's been attack coach at a major NRL club. And I think if an SL job becomes available, he would want to try again. Just not with us.

International coaching is different from club coaching. Timescale if nothing else.

Enough silliness and insults. I'm pleased to see that Steve has improved as a coach since going to Australia and congratulations to him and his coaching team for improving the England team to a point where they've won a series against a nation who regularly challenge Australia.
