Many times over Easter you hear its not the two fixtures in a short turnaround that is a problem but the third the weekend after Easter, i.e. this game.

Well with Salford and Wakey getting serious "At the business end ish " Everything has got that bit more difficult. even for Leigh being neutral. A poster mentioned Bradford "sleepwalking" into oblivion? This has crept up on the team, to add some of us have been warning and forecasting it arriving. Are we surprised !! No. Well lets see what happens.

"If you don't believe you can do something, you have no chance at all" - Arsene Wenger

Re: Hunslet away : Sat Jul 04, 2015 8:35 am
I think we should reserve judgement of the rotation for after the Hunslet game. I say that because we will be able to assess the attitude of Jimmy's obvious preferred players and make a judgement ourselves as to whether Wednesday really was just an "off day". I'm genuinely more concerned about the player mentality rather than rotation as I think the best teams don't need to rotate all that often. Not playing Halafihi is an odd one, though, considering that out of all our players, O'Brien looks the most physically tired of them all.

Some haven't been given a chance. Two have been sent out on loan despite doing pretty well when they playes. Yet Chev Walker comes straight into the team after injury.

It doesn't matter if he rates them, it's about keeping key men fresh and fit. Did O'brien and Gaskell really need to play against Doncaster who haven't won a game all year?

If it was all about money then Salford wouldn't be second bottom.

Oh mate, agree with [nearly] all that and have said so quite a few times.

I'm surprised that anyone would feel it 'doesn't matter' that the coach doesn't rate players though. For what it's worth, I suspect that, in the rush to get ready for the new environment in div 2, many of the new overseas players were probably brought over by the club on the 'recommendations of others - some have worked out and some haven't, though indeed, some don't appear to have been given the chance. 'Despite that, as you say, it really should be about keeping key men fit and we haven't done that effectively imo.

As for Salford, well, as they say, "if everything is right in the back office then everything will be right on the field". They have problems with their owner, showing that whilst you won't win if you don't have money [it will definitely be one of the 'haves' which does win the league] it certainly doesn't, on its own, guarantee success if you have.

Why don't we try playing Mendeika in the centres? That's where he played for Fev last season when he had a great try scoring run.
Ulugia and Uaisele should be featuring somewhere as well. Besides the obvious, one other thing that stood out on Wednesday was our distinct lack of pace in the backs. Williams and Purtell are reliable but are never going to win a footrace. Ulugia can shift and looked a real handful against Rovers in the cup. He's played for Oxford since then so I don't think he's injured anymore. Bloody use him Jimmy!

So frustrating.

Wow looks like Jimmy is reading my posts ;)
Mendeika in the centres today, Purtell and Siejka dropped (or rested). Uaisele recalled, Shaw back to his best position, Mullaney in at 6.

We certainly seem to be more effective today. An actual attacking player in the halves looks to be making a difference

54-6 at the moment. If the weather in Hunslet is anything like what it is in Bradford then I'd guess that's going to be a bit of an equalizer.
