Elbow in the face? : Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:03 am  

Listening to Kear on Radio Leeds last night he accused someone of using the elbow when carrying the ball. I can only think he meant when their bloke went down near the end. Think that was a straight hand off from Tom Olbison[?] though and I saw nothing out of order.

Anyone else have any ideas what he's on about?

It's the Olbison incident that was put on report.
It was right in front of where I was sat and he led with the forearm I think, but it was definitely up in his face and was a heavy contact.

Hopefully nothing comes of the match review, I think Olbison would be unlucky if he copped a ban for it.

You have the making of a referee. It was a hand off hitting the player below the throat above the sternum on the chest. The Batley players and the linesman made the suggestion to the referee that it was an elbow. You must remember that it was the same linesman that did not see the high tackle on AOB by Batley's number 5 which lead to AOB being subbed.

Wildly of thread rather than starting one ... Ref Penny's try for Warrington, I thought jumping a tackle in RL is an offence penalised by a penalty. As spectacular as it was. Watching it again thats seems to be what he did. Confirming that statement a team mate once did it and got penalised. Any thoughts? ....

Edit:- I could understand the Kangaroos allowing it

Was never a high tackle grabbed him by the collar and pulled him down.

Are we talking about the same incident here? The one in the second half where the ref placed the incident on report? Because that was absolutely not a hand off. He used his forearm - which is perfectly legal btw - but he caught the Batley defender in the face with it which is why they felt aggrieved.
He didn't do anything worthy of a ban, but it sure as hell wasn't a hand off to the chest

My collar is around my neck. The guy grabbed AOB around the head holding onto shirt and pulled him headfirst into the ground. That is a high tackle, anything above shoulder height.
