The one thing puzzling me about the likes of Tahraoui and Fleming is that we aren't even sending them out on dual reg while they aren't getting in the side. So they are literally getting zero game time right now. How can that be anything but a bad thing?
Get them both down to Oxford with Blythe, Petersen and Davies.

Said they would be a BIG RL story coming up (that was a few weeks ago)

Then he said it wold be released early last week. Still waiting lol.

Regarding Flemming, don't see point in dual registration as he has played plenty of games. Might as well have a rest. Someone like Davies, Petersen etc who have hardly played, dual reg is a good option.

I sometimes think journalists (and aspiring journalists) just take gambles on stuff like this. Like that Salford bloke (name escapes me, writes weird paragraphed articles for the MEN) who seems to voice constant speculation as fact, and then when he gets 1 out of 50 correct, goes all smug about how he knew before anyone else, when clearly he just guessed and got it right for once.

Similarly with what you say about Mick, perhaps if he says Big News is coming every day, then when some big news actually is released, he can make out that he heard it first.

Few previous comments about Jimmy not changing a winning 17 - however, I don't see why we don't look to improve the 17 and keeping winning. Can't see that Lauakis contribution of less than 20 minutes a week (Blackpool was 13 in 1st and 7 in 2nd if I recall) can't be bettered - still not providing the impact expected from a bench player. His match fitness can and should be obtained elsewhere? Must be disheartening for other props in the squad to see little effort continuing to be rewarded - what less do you have to do to be given a weeks rest?

Also have to agree with others - London is that potential banana skin which we need to avoid.

When it comes to Lauaki I honestly feel I'm in a twilight zone. What on earth are we doing with him? Are we hoping that at some unspecified point somewhere in the future he'll be fully fit to play more than 27 seconds at a time?

It is utterly bizarre.

Re: London vs. Bradford : Wed May 27, 2015 2:05 pm
Agreed. He's not doing the minutes or bringing the impact onto the pitch which I was expecting.
But he must be hitting the targets Jimmy is setting. So as long as we are still progressing towards the goal of finishing in the top 4 of the middle 8's, I am ok with this.

Re: London vs. Bradford : Wed May 27, 2015 3:23 pm
As the team is winning matches, I'm not too fussed if Lauaki is only doing 20 minutes per game. I think Jimmy sees the Championship as like a massive pre-season for Lauaki, getting him as match fit as he can be for the Middle 8s. Perhaps we'll see him do more minutes in the Doncaster game.

Otherwise, I think we'll see an unchanged line-up this weekend, assuming Shaw is OK after his bang to the face.

Getting pretty bored of the stick Shaw seems to get. He was immense against Fax, taking care of all the kicks etc and linking very well on attack, not to mention goal kicking, only way he should be out is if he is suffering from concussion from nearly having his head taken off.

I'm a bit at a loss to understand what's happened to our kicking game. Earlier on, Gaskell was dropping the ball out 60 metres, finding similar touches, and placing some handy bombs. Has he forgotten? It makes life so much easier if you can consistently put in a clever kick on the last, to gain extra sets, and put the opposition under pressure. Meekly kicking the ball into a defender's breadbasket isn't much use. We would have had a rather easier time of it against Fax if we hadn't kicked like we were wearing clown shoes.

Could be he's carrying a knock, I suppose? He's not missed much of the action so it's a possibility.

I thought Lauaki played well on Saturday.

Lauaki played well against Fax. The tactic seems to be that instead of using him as a bulldozer, we're using him as a dummy runner. Which is a clever idea because when he does come through he line he'lol take some stopping so he can be utilised to either punch holes or create them for others
