I'm a bit lost with Samir not getting game time too. Certainly, with ball in hand, he's been one of the big improvers to me - maybe he could hit harder in defence, given his size. I can only really think it may be defensive issues that Jimmy isn't keen on.
Lauaki is a strange one. Is it just me or does he seem to do more damage when he is missed out in the attack? It's as if defenders are girding their loins for a Luaki drive and then obligingly go into holes when he doesn't get the ball - maybe he's our 'nuclear deterrent', as in, hardly ever used but worries the opposition so much they don't prepare for the 'conventional forces'?
With the props in general, I think Steve Crossley's arrival seems significant, in so much as we actually had plenty of props before he came [with some not even having had a game] and I'm sure it wasn't just Jimmy feeling it would be nice to have him back so, to cut to the chase, Jimmy was, presumably, unsatisfied with what he had at his disposal. That said, I'm not sure if
that doesn't lead to more questions than answers.
