Leaving aside the qualification side of it, the other reason I find it hard to believe is that it would mean Wakefield letting us have a bloke who could play against them in the eights later on.
I'm assuming there would be no fee but we would have to take on his contract, which are two big asks since, whoever we let go is not likely to be on the same as Sammut and we must be pretty close up to our cap limit
and it also assumes Wakey won't want a fee. 'Course, it would take a bit of brass neck to charge for guy they clearly don't rate, though I guess it could be some kind of swap....
