Well, I think he was, to use the old expression,"cutting his cloth according to our means", rather than saying they were SL players. In any case, if he'd actually told them the truth they probably wouldn't have had even what little confidence they had, and would probably have played even worse. If he'd told us the truth, many more 'fans' wouldn't have bought tickets, so he was in a bit of a cleft stick to be fair...

I was on about Joel Tomkins. How he was selected ahead of Whitehead last year is amazing!
