The problem with this is that if the cars were parked on the street or in a 'non-official' car park then the park somewhere else option would be to park on the clubs official car park. As this was where the cars were parked the other options are potentially worse. I've known cars get damaged at a lot of grounds but as of yet this is the first instance occurring in the car park the club either provides or suggests for away fans.
This is something new though and affects
all fans and not just away fans, btw and, as I said earlier, clearly they will have to do something, though the sports centre has been used, without incident for a few years now, so far as I know.
The streets around Odsal have been used for years to park cars and 'incidents' have been pretty rare. I've parked 'on street' quite a few times myself, though not regularly [I usually walk, unless the weather is bad] and, though I've heard of an occasional incident, I've not seen anything ever, though obviously, I'm just one individual and I'm sure others would no doubt disagree about, 'ever', given the number of cars which must have been parked in the area over the years. From what I've read in the local paper the cub are already taking some action though, but as the sports centre is neither club property nor run by the club, I'm not certain just what. I don't even know who gets the parking money, council or club - maybe they share, I dunno.
Simplest answer would be to divert a couple of stewards to the car park imo, it's hardly going to cost the earth and would give some peace of mind.
